Canggu is a place that doesn’t so much wake up as it glides into the day, surfboards tucked under arms, the smell of espresso drifting down laneways, and café tables filled with laptops and linen-clad visitors. But for food lovers, the neighborhood offers something else entirely: a 24-hour culinary pilgrimage, one delicious stop at a time.

7am: Start your day at Times Beach Warung

Start your day the Canggu way: barefoot and salty. Head straight to Times Beach Warung, where the coffee is strong, the pastries are flaky, and the ocean provides the morning’s best entertainment. Locals linger here, toes in the sand, watching surfers carve through waves like clockwork. Order a croissant and let the sea breeze do the rest.

10am: Brunch at Baked

When the mid-morning hunger kicks in, make your way inland to Baked., a café that has become something of an institution. The cult favorite? Their silky scrambled eggs, piled generously on house-baked sourdough. And don’t even think about leaving without trying their sourdough soft-serve, a creation that defies logic but makes perfect sense after the first spoonful. Pair it all with a flat white and you’ll understand why brunch in Canggu borders on religion.

1pm: Late lunch at Sensorium

Lunch belongs to Sensorium, where Chef William’s menu is a love letter to modern Australian dining with a Southeast Asian soul. Think: pork belly with tonkotsu broth or their famed 5 Senses Pork Bowl, plated with precision and served with a touch of theater. It’s worth the wait (and there is always a wait). Settle in: the reward is on the plate.

5pm to midnight: dinner & drinks at Giselle

As the sun softens and the air turns golden, it’s time for aperitivo. We’ll welcome you into Giselle, where the playlist hums with easy sophistication. This is a restaurant with a soul, and a little attitude, where we cook as if we’re inviting you into our home, only with colder wine and better music.

Antoine Darquin, Co-founder and Head Chef, equal parts rebel and romantic, calls Giselle a “naughty bistro,” and the menu plays into the fantasy. Start with a cocktail and the sea bream sashimi, dressed delicately with a yuzukosho vinaigrette, then surrender to the seabass in salt crust, flambéed and finished with a beurre blanc Noilly Prat, the kind of dish that silences the room before sparking a fight over the last bite. Here, seafood is seductive, cocktails are essential, and every moment feels like a summer affair you’ll never quite forget.

One day in Canggu is a tease, just enough to leave you full, a little sun-drunk, and already plotting your return.
